 WHERE WE STAYED

Claudia, Jørn  are your host and they make you most welcome

It’s quite easy to find there house: It is centrally located, directly opposite the main entrance to the Vigeland sculpture park. This is the main tourist attraction in town – and everyone you meet in the street should be able to give you instructions on how to get there. The house is hidden behind a yellow wooden house. A driveway leads you up to the house.

The Norwegian Maritime Museum shows Norway's coast and maritime traditions with permanent exhibits about coast culture and maritime history. Their collection of maritime art reflects the perspectives that Norwegian artists have had on the coast and the sea. An impressive multi-screen film by Ivo Caprino gives you a panoramic experience of the ocean and sea. The museum building has won an architectural award and is situated in a park setting by the approach to Oslo harbour.

Vigeland [Frogner] Park, a superb sculpture park [picture top right] with many and curious life-size statues by one of the country's best-known artists, Gustav Vigeland. The star piece is a 20-metre-high obelisk the world's biggest granite sculpture, with 121 clambering bodies representing the human life cycle.
