Leave Hotel at 17.30
Quick introduction as we walk along Glasgow`s main Sauchiehall street .
Our first main stop is Charing cross .
Here you will learn about the City centre and what it was like to grow up in the city. This a chance for you to get your bearings and ask a few questions abot the city.
We now head up towards woodlands area passing the Trinty Tower,Old Headquaters of Scottish Football and to the Granite staircase.
After a slow walk up the Staircase we stop to admire the view. We now head along Park circus to enter Kelvingrove Park This Sir Joseph Paxton designed park is a classic example of a Victorian Park. Its design and setting on the banks of the River Kelvin.
As we wander through the park you will learn about the famous monuments and hear about Glasgow`s party park .We stop at the bandstand to find out about the famous singers and groups who played there.
Crossing the beautiful Kelvin walkway we walk under Glasgow University .Learn about it`s famous students.
From here we get great views of Glasgows famous Art Galleries .
We stop here to find out whats good about the Galleries and also it`s history .
Then on towards the Transport museum and the Kelvin hall. Learn about what`s there and what famous events happened here.
Now on to the main reason Glasgow has turned into a world famous city. The river Clyde. An easy stroll along the riverbank towards the SSEC .
Seeing the Science centre , BBC studio`s and the Glasgow tower. Here you will hear about shipbuiding on the Clyde. The Walk now heads passed Big Bertha . The crane builded special for lifting trains on to ships.
The final stop is the Squinty bridge where you can take
great photographs of the river .
We then head back to your hotel for 19.30 and a well deserved drink .
