Weekend Friday 4th April 2008/Sunday6th The walks went really well at the weekend . On Friday my wife and I had only two walkers but still enjoyed the time. Jacob was from Mexico and Vicky from Dresden Germany and they seemed to enjoy the walk through Kelvingrove Park and the outstanding buildings in the area plus the walk along the Clyde at the Bellsbridge .
On Sunday I took the walk as my wife went to see Mama mia at the Armadillo. Yesterday we had a couple of girls from Santiago in Chile , an English guy working in the local hostel , big Justian who came from Lithuania, and an American Girl who had just returned from working in Antarctica. It was great to see how all the different nationalaties got on .
When we spent a short time in the Art Galleries, Hally the americian girl was pleased to see the Rembrandt's Man in Armour. Also masterpieces by Van Gogh, Monet, Whistler and also Salvadore Dali . She was amazed that Glasgow had such a great collection. We all talked about our travels and where we were heading in the near future. They all seemed to enjoy the day and the weather was cold but sunny . The walk took 3 hours and we were just about to say our goodbyes at George Square when the two girls from Chile ask me to do them a favour. They asked me if I would take them to the Horseshoe Bar . NO PROBLEM . I thought to myself are they desperate for a drink or have they heard of the famous long bar . As I walked into Dury lane the two girls faces lit up as they saw the sign saying Travis had rehearsed here for three years. The two of them were great Travis fan .
It was a great experiance for me and hopefully every walk will be as enjoyable .
